PATHWAY TO TRADES PROGRAM: Preparing Youth for Employment in the Construction Industry
Offering FREE Training for Young Adults
Individuals 16-29 years old may be eligible for this FREE program which will prepare participants for entry level employment in the construction industry.
Participants will earn industry recognized certifications including:
- Occupational First Aid Level 1
- WHMIS
- Fall Protection
- Confined Space training
- and more!
Program Details:
- October 1, 2024 start date
- 6 weeks classroom training
- PAID work experience
- hands on instruction in the electrical and carpentry trades
Program Location: Career Centre – #328 – 198 East Island Highway, Parksville
Those who meet the following eligibility criteria may be considered for the program and are encouraged to apply:
- 16-29 years of age at the time of intake into the program
- unemployed or precariously employed
- living in British Columbia
- not participating in another provincially or federally funded labour market program
- Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person legally entitled to work in Canada
